This guide explains the limits which apply to how much of a work can be copied under Part VA and VB of the Australian Copyright Act for the purposes of teaching and learning. Its purpose is to assist teaching staff prepare course materials for their units

Citing AV materials

Not only is it good academic practice to cite your work, it is also essential for copyright compliance. The citation should note the following information:

Title of program

Time of original broadcast

Date of original broadcast

Duration (in minutes)

Whether sourced from TV (TV), Satellite (S), Cable (C), or Radio (R)

Name of the TV Channel or Radio Station

 

What can I communicate to students?

You may communicate to students all that you copy.

You can place AV material copied under Part VA online for students to access, or send it to students via email, so long as the following caveats are adhered to:
