Several universities have online tutorials and other EndNote resources which are freely available on the web.

Below are links to two very useful sites:

What are Styles?

EndNote and Styles:

EndNote calls referencing styles such as Harvard, APA and Vancouver Output Styles because this describes the style in which the EndNote software 'outputs' your references.

What style should you use?

Check with your Faculty, School, supervisor or lecturer if they have a preferred style. For more information on the various styles see the Manage your references section of the Library guides web page.

Information about the different Reference styles

When you download the EndNote program to your computer it comes with almost 3000 output styles. However the Harvard, APA, Vancouver and some other major styles that come free with EndNote are not complete when citing online sources.

In coordination with UWA Faculties the Library has created more complete styles for highly used referencing styles like APA, Harvard and Vancouver.

These styles can be downloaded from the table below and saved to the Styles folder in your EndNote program. Styles for specific journals can be found either in your EndNote styles folder or can be downloaded from the EndNote site .

Please review the Help with Downloading before downloading these files

Styles for Download

Style files convert EndNote references into any format or style required.

Make sure you donwload the style file into your Styles folder.  EndNote will automatically include the new style.

Vancouver and journal title abbreviations

You can download list of Medline journal title abbreviations and import the file into EndNote. Display the list and use your browser's Save AS function to save this as a text file. To import this list into your EndNote library please contact a Librarian in the Medical and Dental Library or see the download instructions .

Blank EndNote Legal Library

This Library has been created specifically for Law and should be used in conjunction with the UWA AGLC Style (above). It contains a journals term list which provides full titles of law journals and their abbreviations and a labels term list which allows you to sort references by type.

You may like to download the Library and save it to your PC as your own.

For more information, please contact the Law Librarians.
